Single lanes closing for 9th Avenue Quiet Zone work starting Oct. 12

Traffic delays, sidewalks closures between Collyer and Martin

One lane in each direction of 9th Avenue will be closed at the railroad crossing for approximately three weeks starting Sunday, October 12. This work is necessary to remove the large cantilevers at the crossing that are no longer being used with the new safety upgrades.

Vehicles should expect delays and varied traffic patterns between Martin Street and Collyer Street. It is important to pay attention to traffic signs, cones and flaggers to safely navigate the crossing during this time.

There will also be a full closure of the pedestrian sidewalks on the north and south sides of 9th Avenue across the railroad tracks for two days on Sunday, October 12 and Monday, October 13.

Regular construction hours are Monday – Friday from 7 am – 5 pm.  Some work may occur until 7 pm and also on Saturdays and Sundays, as necessary. More information about the closures will be posted on the project webpage. Please visit the Quiet Zones web page to learn more about the overall project.
