Now showing at a City webpage near you: a video of simple tips for new solar customers!  

OK, so it’s probably not going to steal the box office from the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon. But then, Spider-Man can’t help your home get ready for solar panels either. That’s our particular superpower.  

The new video on the Longmont Power & Communications solar webpage  will take you through three basic steps to consider before adding solar to your home. For those of you who didn’t see our previous blog on the topic, those steps include:  

• Figuring out how much energy you’re using now or will use in the future by reviewing your prior electric bills and thinking about anything new you might be adding, like an induction stove or an electric vehicle charger. That will give you and your eventual installer an idea of how large a solar system you may need.  

• Getting an Efficiency Works energy assessment to see where you can reduce the energy you’re using now. 

• Finding a reputable installer through sources such as The Colorado Solar and Storage Association or through  the Solar United Neighbors group buy program now open to Boulder County residents.
