Spring break is here! St. Vrain Valley Schools will be closed for Spring Break March 17-21. Are you looking for free, fun activities to fill your week?
- Kids Club (1st & 2nd graders): Wednesday, March 19, 4-4:45 pm
- Tween Gaming Club (3rd – 5th graders): Wednesday, March 19, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
- Colorado Opera Storytime (preschoolers & up): Friday, March 21, 10-10:30 am
- Open LEGO Build! (1st – 5th grade): Friday, March 21, 1-3 pm
- Kids’ Creative Movement Class (3-5 year-olds): Sunday, March 23, 2-3 pm
Whether you plan to relax at home or explore our beautiful state, the Longmont Library offers resources that will save you money and help make your vacation memorable and fun. If you have a Library card, the following items are free for you to check out and enjoy.
Check out a Colorado State Park Pass
Visit the Circulation desk on the main floor to check out one of four backpack kits that contain a current year’s state park pass tag, Wildlife Viewing Guidebook, along with other useful information about the surrounding land, animals and plants. These four kits are first-come, first-served. Our Colorado State Parks have more than 4,000 campsites and 58 cabins and yur​​ts located throughout the state. Librarians can also direct you to hiking books, trail guides and Colorado maps. Include the whole family and plan a memorable adventure together!
Staying at Home? Check out Board Games!
The Longmont Public Library has added dozens of classic and modern board games, including some Spanish-language editions, to its collection. Any Longmont resident age 16 and older who has a Library card can check out these games to play at home or at the Library. Some of our available titles include Apples to Apples, Chess, Clue, Code Names, Dead of Winter, Go, LoterÃa, Poetry for Neanderthals, Scrabble, Scrabble en español, Catan, Sorry, Splendor, and Ticket to Ride.
