Small stack of wrapped Christmas presents

The Present Time

In my family, like so many, opening Christmas gifts is a lot of fun. But there’s one pastime we enjoy even more. Small stack of wrapped Christmas presents

Namely, that moment of anticipation when someone’s about to open their gift from you.

The wrapping paper tears. The faces light up. The stories start to come out.  (“I know you’ve been looking for The Tao of James Bond forever, and I suddenly remembered this one store…”) And in that moment, you feel the glow – that rush of excitement at having gotten someone exactly what they were looking for.

It’s great.

And if what they’re looking for is a fast internet connection, you can give that gift over and over. And even get a present of your own back.

You see, with NextLight, our customers have always been our biggest promoters. (It’s like they enjoy having locally-owned high-quality internet service. Weird, huh?) So when one of our residential customers recommends us to a friend and they sign up, we like to say thank you. How? By taking $50 off the next month’s internet bill for the referring customer.

Recently, we added a new wrinkle – businesses get to do this, too! If one of our commercial customers sends us a company who signs up at 100 megabits per second or faster, we’ll take $100 off the referring company’s next internet bill. A company can even do this twice a year – after all, we know what it’s like to get a gift and then say “Oh, but SHE would love this, too!”

No wrapping paper needed. No card to buy. Just tell a friend how great your NextLight connection is, and to drop your name if they get it too.

After all, it’s hard to beat a present that plugs you into the future.
