Callahan Spring Open House

Free Talk: Avant Gardens 

Discover the latest trends in garden design at the Longmont Museum on Thursday, April 24 at 7 pm. A panel of local horticulture experts will discuss what defines the avant garde in gardens and the principles that guide their designs. Thompson Park Reopening 

After months of renovations, Thompson Park is ready to welcome visitors back to its refreshed spaces. A reopening event is on April 26, 1-3 pm. Authors We Love: Laura Pritchett 

Hear award-winning author Laura Pritchett discuss writing, the West, nature, and her latest novel Three Keys, described as “a satisfying examination of one woman’s journey of self-discovery.” She will be at the Library on Monday, April 28, 6-7 pm. Get the Scoop on SCOPE 

SCOPE is the City of Longmont’s therapeutic recreation program offering sports, activity-based programs, and classes for people of all abilities: . Anyone interested in participation or volunteer opportunities is invited to the “Get the Scoop on SCOPE” ice cream social on Friday, May 2, 5:30-7 pm at the Izaak Walton Clubhouse, 18 S. Sunset Street. The event is free, but registration is required at bit.ly/scoop-scope.

 

Annual Water Line Flushing Program to begin in April  

Each spring, the City of Longmont’s water staff flushes the main water lines to keep water quality at its highest level and ensure that fire hydrants are operational. This water main line flushing program is scheduled from Monday, April 28th through Friday, May 30th. The flushing will begin in the north of the city and work its way south and west. During the flushing, residents may notice low water pressure, discolored water or no water for short periods of time. The water continues to be safe to use and to drink.
