Coffee with Council: Aug. 24

Longmont City Council will host an in-person Coffee with Council from 9-10 am on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Lashley Street Station, 1200 Lashley St. At this event, you can talk informally with Council Members Sean McCoy and Marcia Martin on any topic of your choice. City’s new website coming!

The City of Longmont is preparing to launch a new website soon, upgrading its online presence at longmontcolorado.gov so that visitors can more easily find the information they need. This will also include a new utility payment portal. After the new site has launched, customers who have signed up for online billing or who have their account set to autopay will need to go to their payment portal, create a new account and re-enter their payment information. Keep watching the City website and the official City Facebook page for any updates.

 

Free Community Night – Legendary Ladies

Bring your picnic meal, chairs and blankets and enjoy the scenery from 5:30-6:30 pm on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive. Then at 6:30 pm, travel back in time with the Legendary Ladies and hear the stories of real women who made a significant impact on the West. This is a free outdoor family event; please consider carpooling due to limited parking. No pets. No registration required. Genealogy Basics at Longmont Library

Need help or interested in getting started in your genealogy research? Come to the second floor Longmont Library from 10 am-noon on Saturday, Aug. 31 in the Unquiet Study Area. Volunteers from the Longmont Genealogical Society offer their time, knowledge and assistance to help you. Bring any information you have — name(s), a date of birth, marriage or death, a place, etc. and see what you can discover. Unity in the Community: Aug. 23

There’s something for everybody at Unity in the Community, held downtown at 4th Avenue and Kimbark Street from 4-9 pm on Friday, Aug. 23! An annual Longmont Chamber event,

Unity is a celebration of Longmont— the people, the businesses, the arts, and the culture of our city collide at this vibrant festival. This event is presented by High Plains Bank, is free to attend and fun for the whole family, with music, entertainment, and activities for all ages. Inaugural Sunset Soirée at Museum

Join the Longmont Museum for their inaugural Sunset Soirée from 6-9 pm on Saturday, Sept. 7. It’s the grand unveiling of the Museum’s beautifully transformed Stewart Family Courtyard! You’ll enjoy an open bar with signature cocktails, a three-course meal and live big band music with the Flatirons Jazz Orchestra. All funds raised will go toward supporting the Museum expansion, including a dedicated children’s exhibit and an expanded feature gallery. Individual tickets are $100 or support the Museum at a higher level with an entire eight-person table for $1000. Space is limited. Register for Fall Recreation Activities

Look for Recreation’s Fall 2024 brochure in your Longmont mailbox and online now at longmontcolorado.gov/rec. The Fall brochure contains activities, fitness classes, programs, and special events that occur between September and December. Registration begins Tuesday, Aug. 13.
