Recreation Center Temporary Closure
The Longmont Recreation Center (310 Quail Road) will be temporarily closed for maintenance through August 31, 2025. It will reopen on Labor Day, operating from 10 am to 4 pm. AI, Your Job, and the Meaning of Life
The Library and the Philosophy Outreach Program at CU Boulder (POPCO) host a monthly virtual book group about modern philosophical issues. Drop in on fourth Mondays at 7 pm to discuss a new topic. Monday, August 25, we talk about AI and what gives our lives meaning as artificial intelligence changes the landscape of jobs and careers. Registration is not required. Affordable Housing Waitlist Opens Soon
Ascent at Hover Crossing is a new family-friendly affordable housing community under construction at 2225 18th Ave. It will offer 75 units for families and individuals that earn up to 80% of the Area Median Income as well as an onsite Early Childhood Education center for income-qualified families. It is a partnership between the Longmont Housing Authority (LHA) and Pennrose with funding from the City of Longmont and other local, state and national partners. The Longmont City Manager is now accepting applications for volunteer positions on the Longmont Public Safety Professional Standards Review Panel. This panel reviews highly confidential information, including internal investigations and allegations of misconduct, and makes findings to the Public Safety Chief. Learn Longmont’s Water Story
The City of Longmont Water Department, in partnership with Colorado Water Stories, invites community members to dive into the City’s first Community Water Academy on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 1:30–3:30 pm at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Ave. This free event offers residents a fun and interactive look at Longmont’s water system – from source to tap – and practical tips for water conservation. Longmont Museum’s Sunset Soirée
Join the Longmont Museum for their 2nd annual gala on Friday, Sept. 5 from 6 to 9 pm.
