Visit Santa at the Callahan Open House
Take a tour, enjoy holiday decorations, and visit with Santa from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, December 6, at the historic Callahan House and Garden at 312 Terry Street. Parents, bring a camera to capture the memories; the line for Santa ends at 6:30 pm. Admission is free and the public is welcome. Celebrate the Holidays with Harps
The Colorado Celtic Harp Society brings the lyrical magic of their harps to the Library’s second floor for an afternoon of holiday tunes. Stop by the Library at 409 4th Avenue between 1 and 2:30 pm on Saturday, December 7, and enjoy beautiful music throughout the building. No registration is required.  

Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, December 7. This is for residential documents only; no business documents accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Free Longmont Lights Holiday Celebration
Enjoy the City’s annual free Longmont Lights holiday celebration this weekend in Downtown Longmont. From 5 to 8 pm (event times vary) on Friday, December 13, in Roosevelt Park at 700 Longs Peak Avenue, delight in the festive activities including Santa’s Workshop for kids at the Memorial Building, visits with Santa at his new location at the Senior Center, balloon glow, hot cocoa carts and mini train rides, and the fireworks finale at 7:45 pm, weather permitting, sponsored by Bank of Colorado. Holiday Parade of Lights and Special Events
Longmont Lights continues at 5 pm on Saturday, December 14, with the “Joy to the World” holiday parade on Main Street. And before the parade, don’t miss the Downtown Winter Wonderland from 3:30 to 5 pm at St. Stephen’s Plaza, 500 Main Street, for activities, music, family fun and more. New in 2019, register for the 4 pm Main Street Fun Run: run, jog, skip, or dance down Main Street for this 1-mile fun run/walk put on by Shoes & Brews and the Longmont Downtown Development Authority.  To sign up and for more information about the Parade of Lights, visit LongmontHolidays.com.

Make Holiday Treasures at Art & Sip
At 6:30 pm on Thursday, December 12, grab a drink and get creative at Art & Sip class for adults at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. Personalize your holiday décor or create a special gift with a hand-painted glass ornament. Clean Native Seeds at Parks Volunteer Activity
Volunteers ages 10 and older are invited to play a role in riparian restoration efforts by cleaning native milkweed seeds so they can be grown out for next spring. No special tools are required, as seeds will be separated and stripped by hand. Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided at this event from 9 am to noon on Friday, December 13. Register for Special Solstice Bedtime Stories
Celebrate the winter solstice at the Library, 409 4th Avenue, from 7 to 8 pm on Thursday, December 19. This special Bedtime Storytime will be full of winter-themed stories, hot cocoa, cookies, and a make-and-take luminary craft to light up the darkest night of the year. Santa Story Time and Brunch at the Museum
Celebrate the winter holidays at a story time and brunch with Santa at 9 am or 11 am on Friday, December 20, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. You’ll enjoy yummy food and cheer as Santa entertains your whole family with stories. Bring your wish lists and camera for this special event for children accompanied by an adult.
