These free paper shredding events occur on the first Saturday of every month from 9 am-1 pm, except in July, which is scheduled for the second Saturday. These shredding opportunities are free for Longmont residents only – not businesses. Please be sure to bring a current City of Longmont Utility Bill and identification to show you are a City resident. Non-residents and businesses can use Green Girl Recycling for their shredding needs. Fees apply. Please visit the Green Girl Recycling website for information.

DocuPet now official pet licensing center
DocuPet is now the official pet licensing center for the City of Longmont, as all dogs and cats must be yearly licensed and vaccinated against rabies. The City believes proper identification is critical to safely getting pets home and reducing shelter intakes and associated fees. Of the 6.5 million pets that enter shelters, about 11% are reunited with their owners. The DocuPet system will be live beginning mid-February. Visit longmontcolorado.gov and search “animals” for pet licensing and municipal code information. For additional information at Longmont Public Safety by calling 303-651-8501 or email at PSpoliceanimalcontrolunit@longmontcolorado.gov.
