Financial Aid Basics at the Library

Planning to attend college but unsure about how to pay for it? Join us Thursday, Feb. 27, from 6-7 pm for a presentation on financial aid, led by staff from Front Range Community College. Learn about the FAFSA, CAFSA, grants, work-study programs, and how to apply for them. There will be time for discussion and questions. Snacks will be provided. An Evening of Surrealist Cinema at the Museum

Join the Longmont Museum Feb. 27 from 7–9 pm for an evening dedicated to some of the pioneers of Surrealist Cinema, offered in complement to the current Picasso exhibit. A close cousin to Cubism, Surrealism attempted to bring the unconscious mind to visual life with surprising and strange combinations of people, things and landscapes. The Spirit of Arbor Day Tree Sale

This year’s Spirit of Arbor Day Tree Sale runs Mar. 3-9. Trees are offered via an online lottery and are sold below cost at $50. You can enter the lottery online anytime during the sale dates. Youth Volleyball Skills Clinic & Spring Leagues

It’s time to get ready for spring volleyball! Recreation offers a coed program beginning in mid-March for grades 3-8 and a CARA league for high schoolers who are not participating on a school team. A skills and drills clinic for all abilities and free adult coaching clinic is offered on Saturday, March 8. Temporary Reopening of St. Vrain Greenway

The City of Longmont is pleased to announce the temporary reopening of the St. Vrain Greenway Trail between Boston Avenue and Sunset Street. The temporary reopening comes as the City prepares to launch the next phase of its flood mitigation and trail restoration efforts with the Izaak Walton Reach 2 project, a key component of the Resilient St. Vrain Project (RSVP).
