Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Longmont residents can safely and securely recycle private documents at this free event. Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, February 4. This is for residential documents only; business materials will not be accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Ice Pavilion Open to the Public
The Longmont Ice Pavilion has reopened after a temporary closure earlier in the week. Visit the pavilion webpage for hours and costs.

Free Landfill Drop Day
The City of Longmont is offering residents an opportunity to take one level pickup load free of charge to the Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County Road 5 in Erie from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday, February 4. Loads must be covered and secured for transport; oversized loads and second loads will be billed accordingly. Please take a photo ID and a copy of your current utility bill to show that you are a City of Longmont customer. Flood Risk Management Study Open House
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is conducting a flood risk management study to evaluate potential improvements along St. Vrain Creek between Lykins Gulch and the BNSF railroad bridge near Price Road. A public open house to share details of the study, which builds on Longmont’s Resilient St. Vrain project, will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on Thursday, February 16, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. Register for Summer Camps
Registration for Longmont Summer Day Camps is now available. Recreation & Golf Services offers traditional, state-licensed summer day care for youth ages 5 (who have completed kindergarten) to 10 and a Tween LOCO camp for ages 11 to 13. Activities include swimming, park field trips and enrichment activities. SCOPE camps provide therapeutic programming for teens and adults with special needs. RTD Senior Ski Bus
Board the RTD Senior Ski bus at 9 am on Tuesdays at the Longmont Senior Center with service to Eldora Mountain Resort. The cost of the bus ride is $5 round trip for those age 65+ and $10 round trip for everyone else. Purchase ski ticket at Eldora. Price varies by age. Call the senior center at 303-651-8411.

“Startup Roadmap” for Small Businesses
Plan the successful launch or growth of your business with the “Startup Roadmap” workshop from 6 to 9 pm on Tuesday, February 7, at the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce, 528 Main Street. Instructors use the Business Model Canvas to identify key challenges you’ll need to address as your business grows. Attendees will begin a draft of their Business Model Canvas and understand how it serves as a foundation for a business plan, draft basic financial projections and understand cash flow vs. income, and more. Landlord Alliance Training: Taxes
As a landlord, have you ever wondered if you have all the information you need to plan your tax strategy? Do you have questions about tax shelters or tax liabilities? Hear tax attorney Bill Van Dusen and CPA Ian Netherton discuss these topics and answer your questions from 6:30 to 8:15 pm on Wednesday, February 8, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Celebrate Chinese New Year
Join several community groups to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Rooster from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday, February 11, at Silver Creek High School, 4901 Nelson Road. Sales and Use Tax Seminar

A free seminar that will answer all your questions will be held from 10 am to noon on Wednesday, February 15, in the City Council chambers at the Civic Center, 350 Kimbark Street.
