First Coffee with Council for 2015 on Saturday
Longmont City Council will host Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, January 31, at La Vita Bella, 475 Main Street. At this event, you can talk informally with at least two council members on any topic of your choice. Mayor Dennis Coombs and Council Member Gabe Santos are scheduled to attend. Longmont and Denver Area Agencies Offer Utility Payment Assistance
Longmont residents count on the City to provide safe, reliable and high-quality services. But the cost of those services continues to rise. Many in our community, especially those with limited incomes, need extra help to make ends meet. The City of Longmont has posted a list of 24 agencies that offer utility payment assistance at https://longmontcolorado.gov/departments/departments-e-m/finance/utility-billing/assistance-agencies.

Summer Day Camp Registration Opens Monday
Registration opens Monday, February 2, for Longmont Recreation Services’ Summer Day Camp. This state-licensed camp for children ages 5 to 12 provides a safe place for kids to explore and achieve success through recreational activities. It’s an activity-based traditional summer camp with swimming twice a week, weekly field trips to Longmont parks, and optional add-on enrichment activities available for an additional fee. Call for Colorado Authors
The Longmont Public Library will host the 4th Annual Author Open House on Saturday, April 18, as part of the 2015 Longmont Library Festival. Table space for 50 authors will be available. To receive an application, email Longmont.Library@LongmontColorado.gov or pick up one at the Library’s Information Desk. Applications will be accepted through March 1, and spaces will be filled by a lottery. Authors will be notified by email of acceptance during the week of March 2.

Library Festival Anthology Taking Entries
The Friends of the Longmont Library invites you to submit entries for the 2015 festival anthology in the categories of fiction, personal narrative, poetry, essay, children’s stories, photographs, drawings, illustrations and more! Entries should be appropriate for a general audience. Please note that submission of a work doesn’t guarantee inclusion in the anthology. Find an entry form and guidelines at LongmontColorado.gov/library. The submission deadline is Sunday, March 1.

Free Landfill Drop Day
The City of Longmont is offering residents an opportunity to take one level pickup load free of charge to the Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County Rd 5 in Erie from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday, February 7. Loads must be covered and secured for transport; oversize loads and second loads will be billed. Please take a photo ID and a copy of your current utility bill to show that you are a City of Longmont customer. Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Recycle your private documents safely and securely. Bring your boxed or bagged papers to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, February 7. This event is for residential documents only; no business materials will be accepted. Please bring identification and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill.
