Roger’s River Run
Join us in your GLOW party apparel at 7:30 pm Friday, July 12 to run, walk, or dance the 5K all the way to the after party at Roger’s Grove Nature Area, 220 Hover St. Plus, your Roger’s River Run bib grants you entry to the exclusive VIP area at the new Rhythm at Roosevelt festival on September 21 at Roosevelt Park. Roger’s River Run is a family-friendly event and strollers are welcome. Event fees increase on race day, so register before the Thursday noon registration cut-off on the Rhythm at Roosevelt webpage or by calling 303-774-4700.
LEGO Build Nights at the Museum
Join the Longmont Museum for LEGO Build Nights on Thursday evenings from June 6-July 18 from 6-8 pm. This week’s theme is Portraits with LEGO Bricks. Come and go between Build Night in the Atrium and the Museum’s LEGO exhibit for a full night of fun for families and adults! Cost of Build Night is $8 for adults and $5 for students/seniors and also includes admission to the LEGO exhibit. Purchase your tickets in advance to reserve your spot (expected to sell out!) and even add an extra-large pizza for $15. The event is free for members and children age 3 and younger. Crafts & Cocoa at Library: Block Printing
Head to the Longmont Library for a summertime Craft and Cocoa from 2:30-4 pm on Friday, July 12! Carve your very own rubber stamp or use a variety of pre-carved stamps in this drop-in block printing workshop. Stamps will be carved by each guest and used to make paper prints or use your stamp to print on clothing items or totes you bring from home. This event is free to attend and for all ages; no registration required.
Plastic Pollution Solutions: July 18
Join your Longmont Librarians and the City’s Sustainability team from 6-7:30 pm on Thursday, July 18 for a free event that will provide resources and ideas to help you reduce single-use plastic waste every day at home, work, school and beyond—including a “Choose to Refuse” kit. Enjoy a panel discussion, children’s programming, an information fair and a special community activity. Registration is required on the Library Programs page or by calling 303-651-8472.
“Trolls” movie at the Museum
Join the Longmont Museum for the Summer Kids’ Film Series Tuesday mornings from June 18-July 30 at 10 am. This week’s movie is “Trolls” (2016, PG). A forest tribe of cotton-candy-colored trolls discover that they are the new favorite treat for King Gristle, the leader of the hideous Bergens. The unlikely duo of Poppy (Ana Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) team up to rescue their friends from the royal chef. Tickets are $3. Shock Art 2024 community voting
Longmont’s favorite public art project is back this summer! Stop by Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, from June 24-July 13 to vote for your favorite boxes.
