Celebrate Juneteenth in Longmont
Join us to commemorate Juneteenth, our nation’s new national holiday that has long been celebrated in the African American community with prayers, feasting, song and dance. This year’s celebration will be a five-day affair June 16-20 offered in collaboration with various Boulder County organizations. Events include youth workshops and performances in African dancing, drumming and singing, flag raising ceremonies, an outdoor community celebration and more. Learn more at ecaace.org.

Juneteenth Holiday Schedule
Most City facilities will be closed Monday, June 20 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. The Waste Diversion Center will be closed. Trash, recycling and compost will be collected one day later. Some recreation facilities will remain open. Find schedules at LongmontColorado.gov/Holidays.

Volunteer for Rhythm on the River
The Rhythm on the River festival returns July 8-9. Volunteers are needed. Sign up at bit.ly/RhythmRiverVolunteer or call 303-774-4694 for more info.

Free Outdoor Concerts at the Museum
Enjoy live music in the Museum’s courtyard from 6:30-8 p.m. every Thursday from June 16-July 28 with their free outdoor concert series! Lawn chairs and blankets welcome, alcohol and concessions available for purchase. Learn more at longmontmuseum.org or by calling 303-651-8374.

Recreation Passes Available Online
Spend less time in line and save more money. Purchase a 20-visit, 30-day, or three-month pass for Recreation Services online. Passes are good for admittance at the St. Vrain Memorial Building, the Longmont Recreation Center, Centennial Pool (indoors) and Sunset Pool (outdoors). Author Talk with Dorothy Wickenden
The Longmont Public Library, in partnership with the Longmont Museum, will host the first in-person The Library @ The Museum series event of the year with internationally known author, and executive director of The New Yorker, Dorothy Wickenden. Wickenden will discuss her new book, “The Agitators: Three Friends Who Fought for Abolition and Women’s Rights” starting at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, in the Stewart Auditorium, located at 400 Quail Road. Downtown Concerts Every Friday in June
Street concerts take place at Fourth Avenue and Kimbark Street every Friday in June. Head downtown every Friday in June from 6-9 p.m. for free music, dancing, food trucks, local craft beverages, kids activities and family-friendly community fun. The June 17 concert will feature Face Vocal Band and Bruce Cook Band. Details at DowntownLongmont.com.
