In-person Coffee with Council is Back!
Longmont City Council will host Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Ave. At this event, you can talk informally with Council Member Marcia Martin and Council Member Susie Hidalgo-Fahring, and the coffee is on us! Pop-up Library, Storytime in the Park
Join Longmont Children’s and Teens’ Librarians from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 26 at Collyer Park, 600 Collyer St., for an outdoor all-ages Storytime and pop-up Library. Bring a blanket to the 30-minute storytime from 11-11:30 a.m. with a focus on movement, songs and fun stories. The use of face coverings and social distancing is encouraged. A selection of staff picks books for all ages (including adults) will be available for check-out, so bring your Library Card and get ready to browse! New Recreation Facility Hours
Longmont recreation centers around the city have new hours. See below for the updated hours or visit LongmontColorado.gov/rec for details.
The Longmont Recreation Center, 310 Quail Road:
- Monday-Friday: 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The hot tub, steam room and sauna are operating regular hours.
St. Vrain Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Ave.:
- Monday-Friday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday: 7 a.m. to noon
- Sunday: Closed
Centennial Pool, 1201 Alpine St.:
- Monday-Friday: 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday-Sunday: Closed through the summer
Sunset Pool, 1900 Longs Peak Ave.: Hours vary
Skyline Kiwanis Hosting Fireworks Show
The Longmont Skyline Kiwanis are hosting a private event and fireworks show at the Fox Hill Country Club on the evening of July 4. The fireworks at 9:45 p.m. will likely be seen from many areas of Longmont. Residents will not be permitted on the course or in the neighborhood as spectators, but can watch the show by utilizing the public parking lots at Stephen Day Park, Clark Centennial and Sandstone Ranch. Schools Offer ‘Sharing the NextLight’ Signup
Sharing the NextLight is on the road! During the upcoming visits of the St. Vrain Valley School District’s Innovation Lab, families at Northridge and Rocky Mountain elementary schools will be able to sign up in-person for Sharing the NextLight, which offers a free NextLight home internet connection to households with free or reduced-lunch students. In-person signup will be available at Rocky Mountain from 4-6 p.m. June 23, and at Northridge from 4-6 p.m. June 24. Refreshments will be served; interested families are encouraged to bring their free/reduced lunch documentation and student ID numbers. For more information about the program, call 303-774-4494

Free Outdoor Concert at the Museum: Tiffany Christopher
Enjoy a free, in-person concert in the Longmont Museum’s grassy outdoor courtyard. Pushing the boundaries of a traditional singer/songwriter, Tiffany Christopher is a multi-instrumentalist who engages her audience with physicality and musical virtuosity. Her musical genres range from folk-rock and alternative-Americana to hip-hop and rhythm and blues. Lawn chairs and blankets welcome. Alcohol and concessions available for sale (only alcohol purchased on site is allowed). Limited seating; reservations recommended.
