Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Friday, March 2. This is for residential documents only; no business documents accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Serve Your City on the Youth Council
The Longmont Youth Council (LYC) is seeking new members. Over the last 10 years, the LYC has been involved in projects including Halloween for the Hungry, Tobacco Prevention, Diversity Day, Anti-Vandalism, Sticker Shock, and Suicide Prevention, among others. This is a fun and dynamic youth-led group of motivated, committed youth in grades 8 through 12. Helping Young Adults Get Ready to Launch
This new, free life coaching series designed especially for older teens and those in their early- to mid-20s, helps young adults get a handle on their career plans, social life, and health so that they can launch their life into the orbit they desire. Meetings are from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on the first Monday of the month in the upstairs Unquiet Study Room at the Library, 409 4th Avenue. Spring Softball Registration is Open 
Joining an adult sports league is a great way to meet like-minded people, stay fit, and get to know your neighbors! No team? No problem! Free agents sign up as individuals and are grouped into teams. Spring softball registration is ongoing until March 4. Spring basketball and flag football registration begins March 5.  Visit LongmontColorado.gov/leagues for information and a registration packet.

Get Acquainted With the Senior Center
From 9 to 10:30 am on Monday, March 5, “Get Acquainted” with Longmont Senior Services. Learn about the programs, volunteer opportunities, trips, resources, recreation, and drop-in classes available to you as a 55+ member of our community. Call 303-651-8411 to reserve your seat at this free event facilitated by Senior Center staff, and arrive on time with all your questions.  

Celebrate the Anniversary of “Frankenstein”
Two programs at the Longmont Public Library will honor the 200th anniversary of “Frankenstein.” From 10:30 to 11:30 am on Saturday, March 17, a book discussion group will help you get to know “Frankenstein” in more depth and from different perspectives. From 7 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 22, historical performance artist Susan Marie Frontczak will present Mary Shelley’s life and writing. WWI Film Series
Through March 22 the Longmont Museum’s Thursday night WWI film series continues with screenings of Wonder Woman, All Quiet on the Western Front, and War Horse. The series complements the Museum’s current exhibition “WWI: Longmont & the Great War,” which tells the personal stories of people from Longmont who were involved in the war. Your film ticket gives you admission to the exhibit at no extra charge. Cost is $8 general admission and $5 for Museum members. Ralph Price Reservoir Fishing Permit Sales for 2018
On Monday, April 2, 2018 annual fishing permits for Ralph Price Reservoir will go on sale. A Colorado Parks & Wildlife fishing license is required at all City of Longmont fishing areas. An additional, special permit from the City of Longmont is required at Ralph Price Reservoir inside Button Rock Preserve. Permits will be on sale in Longmont and Lyons at the cost of $20 for City of Longmont and Town of Lyons water utility customers, and $30 for non-utility customers.
