Coffee with Council This Saturday

Serve on a City Advisory Board, Committee
Residents are invited to share their voice, expertise, and vision with City Council by applying to serve on several of the City’s advisory boards or commissions. The committees serve as advisory groups helping City Council learn about and make decisions on a wide variety of issues that affect the safety, economy and quality of life of Longmont’s residents and businesses.

- Fill out the application and submit by 5 pm on Friday, April 22

Zero Waste Resolution Update
Diverting waste from landfills by recycling and composting contributes to a clean, safe community and healthy ecosystems that support clean air, water and soil. It also supports the City of Longmont’s commitment to reach a 50 percent residential diversion rate by 2025. Ralph Price Fishing Permits on Sale Friday
On Friday, April 1, annual fishing permits for Ralph Price Reservoir will go on sale. A Colorado Parks & Wildlife fishing license is required at all City of Longmont fishing areas. An additional, special permit from the City of Longmont is required to fish at Ralph Price Reservoir inside Button Rock Preserve. Register for Day Camp and Summer Fun
Keep busy and active this summer! Recreation & Golf Services’ 2022 activities brochure can be viewed online at LongmontColorado.gov/rec and print copies will be mailed to Longmont residents the week of April 4. Registration begins Tuesday, March 29. The summer brochure features classes, camps and special events that occur between mid-May and August. Registration is ongoing for contracted camps and the licensed day camp/childcare program for kids ages 5-13. Call 303-774-4700 for information.

Visit the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium this week to view upcoming shows including:
- CU’s Playback Theatre Ensemble: Don’t Boulder My Longmont! (Or Please Boulder My Longmont!): 7 pm on Thursday, March 31. Wherever you stand on how Longmont’s changing, you probably have stories to tell. Bring us your stories (or just come to watch!) and witness them turned into art.
- Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra: Celebrating Buster Keaton, Hollywood’s Favorite Fool: 7 pm on Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2. Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra performs a live musical score to accompany two classic silent Buster Keaton films: Steamboat Bill, Jr. (1928) and The General (1925).

Winter Walkabout Music Showcase
After a 2-year hiatus, the Winter Walkabout Music Showcase will return to downtown Longmont on Saturday, April 9. The WWMS consists of a variety of music performances throughout multiple venues — all within walking distance of each other in downtown Longmont. Bilingual Poetry Workshop and Reading
Join Alejandro Jimenez, 2021 National Mexican Poetry Slam Champion, for a bilingual workshop and poetry reading on Monday, April 18, in the City Council Chambers, Civic Center, 350 Kimbark St. Alejandro will be hosting a 45-minute bilingual poetry workshop followed by a 45-minute bilingual poetry reading.
