Find Out What’s Open at the City of Longmont
Boulder County’s Stay at Home Order was extended until May 8, and all City of Longmont programs and events have been cancelled through May 31. City facilities will reopen gradually based on guidance from Boulder County Public Health. Stay up to date on what’s open, what’s closed, and information you need to be safe as you venture out at LongmontColorado.gov/coronavirus, or call 303-774-3759 for a recorded message.

Help Provide Masks and Gloves
Longmont Recreation and Senior Services staff and CERT volunteers will host the last of four mask-and-glove drives on Saturday, May 2, to benefit Longmont’s senior citizens and vulnerable adults, Meals on Wheels volunteers, and first responders, among others. This event will be held in the parking lot of the Longmont Recreation Center, 310 Quail Road, from 10 am to 2 pm. The drive-up event accepts donations of homemade fabric masks, masks intended for commercial use (N95, KN95, FFP2, surgical masks), goggles that seal to the face, face shields, non-latex, and nitrile gloves. All items should be in new condition, and all except homemade masks should be in original packaging. If you have questions regarding donations, call 303-651-8411 or email senior@LongmontColorado.gov.

Drinking Water Quality Report Available
The 2019 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report is available online at bit.ly/drinking-water-longmont. You’ll find information about Longmont’s drinking water and results of the most recent tests that were done on our drinking water. Printed copies will be available to view at the Library, the Utility Billing window in the Civic Center, and the Service Center when they reopen. If you need a printed copy, call 303-651-8416. If you previously signed up to request a printed copy, you should receive it in the mail in May. Stay Safe Outside
As the weather warms and more people take to our trails and greenways, please continue to follow social distancing and common safety guidelines. Wear a mask and stay at least six feet away from those who are not part of your household. These actions protect others as much as they protect you. If your dog is enjoying a walk with you, keep it on a leash (it’s the law) and try to keep the leash reined in so as not to impede cyclists or others passing you. And if you’re listening to music, consider using only the right earbud so you can hear people passing on your left. Stay safe out there!

Serve Longmont on an Advisory Board
You can give back to your community by serving on a City of Longmont advisory board. Residents are invited to serve as official advisors to the Longmont City Council on any of several boards and commissions. The committees advise City Council on a variety of issues that affect the safety, economy and quality of life of Longmont’s residents and businesses. Board members generally spend a few hours each month preparing for and attending meetings. To apply, you must have been a registered voter of Longmont and resided inside Longmont city limits for at least one year prior to being appointed. For more information visit LongmontColorado.gov/board-application. The application deadline is 5 pm on Friday, May 8. Call 303-651-8649 with questions.
