Holiday Schedules for Memorial Day
Most City facilities will be closed on today for Memorial Day, Monday, May 31. Trash, recycling and compost will be collected one day later than usual throughout the week; the Waste Diversion Center will be closed today (Monday, May 31). Union Reservoir Moves to Regular Summer Hours on May 28
Union Reservoir will shift to summer activity schedule on Friday, May 28, 2021. Swim beach hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Information on day and seasonal passes can be found at https://bit.ly/union-fees-and-hours. The reservoir can reach capacity between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on weekends, and the wait to enter the park can be up to two hours. Please plan your visit accordingly. Fun Fridays Begin at Sandstone Ranch
Kids will enjoy weekly themed crafts and activities from 9 a.m. to noon every Friday, June 4 through July 30, at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive. Parents or guardians must be in attendance and supervise their children. Limited parking is available; try riding your bike as a family! Fun Fridays are free with a $2 per child suggested donation to cover the cost of the craft supplies. The Visitors Center is closed July 2. Shred Your Documents for Free
Safely and securely recycle your private documents by bringing your boxed or bagged documents to be shredded at the Waste Diversion Center, 140 Martin St., Saturday, June 5, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. This event is for residential documents only; no business materials will be accepted. Rainbow Storytime with Out Boulder County
Join Out Boulder County and Librarian Claire virtually for the 7th annual Rainbow Storytime for Boulder County Pride Week from 6-6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 7. Books by and about LGBTQ+ kids and their families will be read during the event. All ages are welcome; stories are geared toward preschool-aged children and older. Rainbow Storytime will be broadcast live on Out Boulder County’s Facebook page: Facebook.com/OutBoulderPride.
Museum Announces Summer Season
The Longmont Museum Summer 2021 Newsletter is now available, marking a full, in-person reopening of the Museum. Upcoming programming includes:
- the popular historic Longmont walking tours with a special emphasis on commemorating the 150th anniversary of Longmont’s founding;
- free in-person Summer Concert Series, held in the Museum’s outdoor courtyard every Thursday night from June 17 to July 29 at 6:30 p.m.;
- and summer camp with programs in art, history, science, and culture for children ages 3 – 16, held both in person and virtually.
