Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, May 4. This is for residential documents only; no business documents accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Día – Diversity in Action – at the Library
The Library’s third annual celebration of children, books, and diversity, “Día – Diversity in Action/Diversidad en Acción,” features music, dancing, games, crafts, and treats for the whole family. The Skyline High School Mariachi Band will headline this bilingual event from 2 to 3:30 pm on Sunday, May 5, at the Library, 409 4th Avenue. No registration is required and all ages are welcome.

The Longmont Main Street Corridor Plan will address the need to carry multiple transportation modes safely and efficiently on Main Street while revitalizing the area and creating opportunities for mixed-land use projects. The City is asking how you would like to see this corridor change over time. Drinking Water Quality Report Available Online
The 2018 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report is available online at bit.ly/drinking-water-longmont. You’ll find information about Longmont’s drinking water and results of the most recent tests performed on our drinking water. Printed copies are available to view at the Library, the Utility Billing window in the Civic Center, and the Service Center. If you need a printed copy, call 303-651-8416. Open House at Callahan House & Garden
The Historic Callahan House & Garden at 312 Terry Street will host an Open House with tours from 4 to 8 pm on Saturday, May 11, as part of Downtown Longmont’s ArtWalk. Admire works by local artists while you learn some local history. Admission is free. Peace Officer Memorial Service
The 2019 Peace Officer Memorial Service will be held at 6 pm on Wednesday, May 15, on the front steps of the Safety and Justice Center at 225 Kimbark Street. This service honors law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and shows our appreciation for those who currently serve on the front lines to keep our community safe.
