Veterans Day Holiday Hours
Most City facilities will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Thursday trash, recycling and compost will be collected one date later due to the holiday; the Waste Diversion Center will be closed. The Longmont Museum and some Recreation facilities will be open. Citywide Fall Sweep Begins Monday, Nov. 8
Each fall, the City of Longmont conducts a citywide street sweeping operation to remove dirt, debris and pollutants that build up during the summer months. Street sweeping removes tons (literally!) of contaminants annually from the streets that would otherwise pollute our air and rivers. This year’s Fall Street Sweep begins Monday, Nov. 8. Boulder County Fairgrounds Open House
Join Design Workshop and Boulder County staff for the Boulder County Fairgrounds Open House from 5-7:30 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the Fairgrounds’ Exhibit Building, 9595 Nelson Road, where you’ll learn more about the Master Plan for the site. Boards will be set up with interactive activities planned at various stations. An online survey will be available to those who cannot attend after the meeting. Longmont Turkey Trot Fun Run
Gobble, gobble, gobble, GO! Join the fun starting at 9 am on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Altona Middle School, 4600 Clover Basin Drive, for the Lucky Turkey edition of the annual Longmont Turkey Trot. Run or walk a scenic 2-mile or 10K course, including a wheelchair division. Register in person at any Recreation facility or online at LongmontColorado.gov/rec (keyword “turkey”) until noon on Wednesday, Nov. 10. All race proceeds benefit Recreation’s Youth Scholarship Fund. Serve on a City Board or Commission
Are you passionate about Longmont’s water? Our parks? Art in public places, the environment or planning and zoning? Whatever your interests are, you can make a difference by serving on the City’s boards and commissions. These groups advise City Council on current operations and long-term planning. Now Hiring: Longmont Ice Pavilion Staff
Do you enjoy being outside, ice skating and/or playing hockey? Get paid for doing what you love! The Longmont Ice Pavilion in Roosevelt Park is now hiring seasonal staff for the 2021-22 season. We are looking for front desk staff, assistant hockey coaches, learn-to-skate instructors and skate guards. Art & Sip: Painting Thompson’s Trees

Grab a drink and get creative with these Thursday Night classes for adults. One of Longmont’s first benefactors, Elizabeth Thompson provided a much needed gift of trees to the colonists in the 1870s.
