Join “Read for Your Health” Book Group
The Library’s health-focused book group is returning in December with a new virtual format and “Heart: A History” by cardiologist Sandeep Jauhar. The next meeting of the librarian-hosted book group for adults and teens age 16 and older will be from 7 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, December 8, via Webex. Falling Leaves, Sweeping Streets
As the leaves fall, City staff and contractors hit the streets in force to sweep them up. The street sweeping routes and operations are designed to not interfere with trash collection and to ensure that bike lanes are swept as well. It also is standard practice to sweep snow routes following snowfall. Find maps that show the estimated schedule of citywide fall sweeping at LongmontColorado.gov/street-sweeping. Call 303-651-8416 for more information.
Boulder County Offers Warrant Forgiveness Program
The Boulder County District Attorney’s Office is offering another “Fresh Start” event. Fresh Start is an innovative “warrant forgiveness” program that provides an opportunity for people with an outstanding warrant to resolve their warrant without being arrested. The program is designed to give those with active warrants stemming from non-violent and low-level misdemeanor or traffic cases an opportunity to move toward a resolution in their case. Individuals with warrants in qualifying cases will speak with representatives from the District Attorney’s Office and either resolve the case or set the case for a new court date. The event will be held at the Boulder County Justice Center and Longmont Courthouse on Saturday, November 7, 2020, from 9 am to 3 pm. Eligibility guidelines are posted on the District Attorney’s website: www.bouldercounty.org/district-attorney/ or call (303) 441-3700.
