Most City Facilities Closed on Monday
Longmont city government observes the Veterans Day holiday on Monday, November 12. All City facilities will be CLOSED except the Longmont Recreation Center, the St. Vrain Memorial Building, and the Ice Pavilion, which will be open regular hours. Trash, recycling and composting will be collected one day later than usual through the week.
An Opportunity to Serve Your Community
Residents are invited to serve as official advisors to Longmont City Council on several boards and commissions. Board members generally spend a few hours a month preparing for and attending meetings. Applicants must reside inside Longmont city limits and be registered voters of Longmont for at least one year prior to being appointed. Visit bit.ly/longmontapp for more information and to apply. Longmont Ice Pavilion Opens Monday
Opening Monday, the Longmont Ice Pavilion in Roosevelt Park at 725 8th Avenue is a seasonal full-service outdoor facility offering public ice skating, hockey, skating lessons, and party facilities. Landlord Alliance: A View From the Bench
From 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, November 14, Boulder County Court Judge Karolyn Moore will discuss forcible entry, lease clauses, eviction procedcures, and the benefits of mediation. Be Ready Longmont!
Are you prepared in the case of tornadoes, floods, pandemics, terrorist events, or other emergencies in Longmont? From 9 to 10 am on Friday, November 16, the City of Longmont’s Community Emergency Response Team manager will discuss BeReady Longmont!, a program to help you prepare for disaster in your home and workplace. Free Landfill Drop Day
The City of Longmont lets residents take one level pickup load free of charge to the Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County Rd 5 in Erie from 7 am to 2 pm on Saturday, November 17. Loads must be covered and secured for transport; oversize loads and second loads will be billed. Sales and Use Tax Seminar
Do you have questions about the business sales and use tax in Longmont? A free seminar that will answer all your questions will be held from 10 am to noon on Wednesday, November 14, at the Civic Center, 350 Kimbark Street. Building Better Cities Program
The public is invited to join the Longmont Downtown Development Authority for a discussion about community development and public-private partnerships on Monday, November 19, at The St. Vrain, 635 3rd Avenue. Marilee Utter of Citiventure Associates specializes in transformational projects and public-private transactions, and her experiences and expertise in downtown Denver are known throughout the country. Register Now for Dungeons & Dragons
Sixth through 12th graders who have some experience playing Dungeons & Dragons are invited to play friendly D&D campaigns at the library, 409 4th Avenue, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm every Tuesday beginning November 20. Participants will work together to create the playing experience. New players may join but there is no instruction provided for beginners.
