Free Guided Bird Walks at Sandstone

Join local birder Carl Starace in exploring a wide variety of local birds as he guides you around the Sandstone Ranch loop trail. These free walks happen on both Tuesday, October 14 and Tuesday, October 28, from 8 to 11 am. Meet at the Visitors Center upper parking lot at 3001 Sandstone Drive. Art & Sip: Spooky Silhouette Portrait

Join the Longmont Museum for this Halloween-themed Art & Sip class Thursday, Oct. 16 at either 4 pm or 6:30 pm. Explore the art of silhouette portraiture and then make it spooky by adding a witch’s hat. Participants will learn the fundamentals of silhouette design, focusing on clean lines, dramatic contrasts, and expressive profiles. Adults Creative Night, Free at the Library

Data suggests that creating just for the sake of it boosts happiness. The Library hosts free, beginner-friendly craft nights every month. Join us Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5 to 6 pm in the Unquiet Study Area to relax, socialize, and make a new project! Supplies are provided, and space is first come, first served. “Manchurian Candidate” at the Museum

Watch the classic 1962 film in the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 pm. Set in the early fifties amidst the Korean War, this razor-sharp novel adaptation tells the story of a decorated U.S. Army Sergeant brainwashed into becoming a Communist sleeper assassin and a fellow POW (Frank Sinatra) who slowly uncovers the sinister plot. Oct 17 Deadline to Apply for Boards

The City of Longmont invites community members to help shape the future of Longmont by volunteering to serve on an advisory board or commission. Applicants must be registered voters and a Longmont resident for at least one year prior to being appointed. Hurry; applications must be submitted by 5 pm on Friday, October 17.
