Longmont Seeks Volunteers for Police Citizen Review Board
The Longmont City Manager is currently accepting applications for volunteer positions on the Longmont Police Department Professional Standards Review Panel. 
The Panel reviews investigations of police employees conducted by the Longmont Police Department. Panel members review highly confidential information, including internal investigations and allegations of misconduct, and makes findings to the Public Safety Chief. Applications must be received in the Longmont City Clerk’s Office located at 350 Kimbark St. before 5 pm on Friday, October 23, 2020. Visit LDDA Day of the Dead Business Altars

As part of Longmont’s 2020 Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration, Downtown Longmont businesses will once again host ofrendas (altar displays) to honor the tradition of the holiday and commemorate those who have passed on. During 2nd Friday on October 9, Downtown Longmont businesses will unveil their ofrendas, and maps for self-guided tours of all business altar locations will be available at Downtown businesses, as well as at the Longmont Downtown Development Authority, 320 Main Street. Many Park Restrooms to Close for Winter
Beginning Sunday, October 11, many park restrooms will be closed for winter to prevent damage to the aboveground plumbing. The City places portable toilets in several high-traffic areas for use throughout the winter. (The availability of portable restrooms can change as direction from Boulder County Public Health changes in relation to the COVID-19 virus.) Find the closing dates for all park restrooms, as well as those that remain open at LongmontColorado.gov/parks.

Enjoy Park Shelters Through the Winter
Park shelter reservations are not accepted for winter months when restrooms are winterized, but shelters can still be used on a first-come, first-served basis. Special permits are required if you are holding a large event, charging admission or serving or selling alcohol. Find more information at LongmontColorado.gov/parks.
