Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat Street
Dress in your Halloween costume, march down Main Street, and visit participating Downtown merchants afterward for Trick or Treat Street on Saturday, October 27. Children and adults of all ages can be part of Longmont’s annual free costume foot parade. Parade line-up begins at 9:30 am (10 am start) at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Avenue. No registration is required, and strollers or wagons are recommended for tiny feet. No motorized vehicles. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed, and no large animals please. Pharmaceutical Take Back Event
Drugs discarded down the drain can pass through the wastewater plant and into St. Vrain Creek without treatment. Bring them instead to a free drop-off event from 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday, October 27, in the main lobby of Longmont United Hospital, 1950 Mountain View Avenue. Pills, capsules, liquids, inhalers, patches, etc. are welcomed. No needles, thermometers, controlled substances, medical equipment, personal care products, household hazardous wastes, or business wastes accepted. Celebrate Día de los Muertos at the Library
Bring your friends and family to the Library at 409 4th Avenue for a bilingual celebration of Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead from 3 to 4:30 pm on Sunday, October 28. Honor your loved ones who have passed on with a festival of dancing, food, crafts, and more. No registration is required, and this is a family-friendly event.
Calling All Little Ghouls and Goblins!
Bring your little pumpkins, pirates, and princesses to the Library at 409 4th Avenue for some ghoulish stories and songs at 10:15 or 11 am on Tuesday, October 30, or Wednesday, October 31. Halloween-themed stories will be followed by a frightfully fun trick-or-treat costume parade through the Civic Center, so costumes and trick-or-treat bags are encouraged. No registration is required.
Spooky Shrub and Grass Planting
From 1 to 4 pm on Wednesday, October 31, celebrate fall by planting native shrubs and grasses along the northwest bank of McIntosh Lake. Snacks will be provided, and costumes are welcomed. Visit bit.ly/post-volunteer to register.

You have your new computer or portable device, but where do you get safe and reliable programs? Learn about the best places to download apps and what you need to know to make your experience successful. Ages 50 and older welcome; bring your portable device with you from 1:30 to 3:30 pm on Thursday, November 1, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Day of the Dead Family Celebration
From 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, November 3, enjoy live music and dancing, sugar skull decorating, traditional food, community altars, paper flower making, face painting, Lady Catrina, and more at the Longmont Museum’s annual Day of the Dead family celebration – the largest in Colorado! Come dressed in your finest calaca (skeleton) apparel for this free event at 400 Quail Road.

The Main Street Corridor Plan project team invites the public to a workshop from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, November 7, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. Join the doctors of UCHealth Longmont Clinic to learn tips for staying healthy in Recreation Services’ free presentations on select Wednesdays from 6 to 7 pm at the Longmont Recreation Center, 310 Quail Road. Be a course marshal and cheer the runners at the Longmont Turkey Trot 10K/2-mile run/walk on November 10 at Altona Middle School, 4600 Clover Basin Drive. Everyone is welcome to volunteer: families, friends, seniors, adults, teenagers everyone! This is a great opportunity for students to earn volunteer hours.
