Free Talk: History of Urban Air Quality

Join a free talk with NCAR scientists at the Longmont Museum Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 pm to learn about work in the L.A. Basin to study urban air quality during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The unique shift in human activity during the pandemic gave scientists a chance to learn more about the sources of pollution. Historic Longmont Eastside Walking Tour

Explore the Historic East Side on a vibrant walking tour with Longmont Museum Curator of History Elizabeth Beaudoin on Friday, Oct. 10 at 10 am. Learn how the neighborhood was home to many of Longmont’s original immigrant families, what vernacular architecture is, and how the neighborhood fought back against urban renewal. Day of the Dead Family Celebration

This year’s free Day of the Dead celebration returns to Downtown Longmont (4th & Kimbark St.) on Saturday, Oct. 11, 11 am-3 pm. This celebration of culture and heritage will feature traditional live music and dance, face painting, sugar skull decorating, crafts, food trucks, a kids’ play zone, local vendors and more. Positive Play Series with Dandelion Arts

Join Dandelion Arts Collective and Anima Arts at the Library for Positive Play classes for kids (K-2nd grade) and caregivers. Enjoy games, acrobatics, theater, and music while building communication and interaction skills. The next class is Saturday, Oct. 11, from 2 to 3 pm. Registration is required for this free series. New Source for 2026 Water Rebates

Starting Jan. 1, the City of Longmont will take over the water efficiency rebate programs currently offered by Efficiency Works. This includes rebates for high-efficiency toilets, ENERGY STAR clothes washers, sprinkler system equipment and more. To learn more, please visit Efficiency Works online.
