Inclusive Communities Celebration
The public is invited to the Inclusive Communities Celebration from 6 to 9 pm on Friday, September 22, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. This annual event celebrates and promotes understanding of the many different cultures that are part of our Longmont community. Win Kindle Fire and $50 gift card in LPC contest
Longmont’s long known the value of its public power, with $27.3 million saved in electric bills compared to the average Colorado community. Now you can help celebrate it, and get a chance to win a Kindle Fire, a $50 downtown gift card and other prizes for Public Power Week (Oct. 1-7). Write up what you like best about your electric service in a haiku – five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five syllables in the third – or send us a picture that shows why you love your public power. Celebrate the New “Baby-Sitters Club” Release
The long-awaited fifth installment of The Baby-Sitters Club Graphix novels will be released on September 26! Come join Ms. Stephanie from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, September 30, at the Library, 409 4th Avenue, for an unofficial drop-in meeting of the Babysitters Club and a chance to win a copy of the new release, “Dawn and the Impossible Three.” For tweens and teens. Autumn Family Fun at Sandstone Ranch
Celebrate autumn with family-friendly activities from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, September 30, at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive. Enjoy music, crafts, pumpkins, scarecrow stuffing, a scavenger hunt and more! $10 per family or $3 per person suggested donation collected at the event. No registration is necessary. Apply Now for Sister Cities Exchange
Longmont Sister Cities Association is accepting applications for student ambassadors and adult chaperones to participate in the 2018 summer exchange to Mexico or Japan. Candidates must live or go to school within the boundaries of the St. Vrain Valley School District. Live with a local family, create lasting friendships through a life changing experience, and help bring the world together one friendship at a time. Meet and Greet for Residents Age 55+
If you’re ready to find your tribe and fill your bucket list, attend this meet and greet session and learn about all the recreation and resources available to you as a 55+ Longmont resident. Whether you’re still working, semi-retired, caregiving, or just ready to have some fun and make new friends, the Longmont Senior Center is your community hub for active older adults. Take Action for Clean Air and Active Living

Coffee with Council is Saturday September 30
Longmont City Council will host Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, September 30, at Whole Foods, 1250 S. Hover St. You can talk informally with at least two council members on any topic of your choice, and the coffee’s on us! Council members Finley and Peck are scheduled to attend.
