The True North housing community will celebrate its grand opening at 913 Edge Circle on Thursday, May 28, from 5-7 pm. Longmont leaders and project partners will give short speeches, followed by home tours and free food truck service.

True North is a new, affordable and attainable for-purchase housing community featuring modern home designs. The project is a partnership between the City of Longmont, the Golden family (longtime Longmont residents), and local developer Vertikal. Construction began in October 2024 and will roll out over four phases. Phase 1 is almost complete and consists of 52 homes with several different size and design options. The community will ultimately offer 185 homes.

The idea for True North came from a shared vision to increase opportunities for affordable home ownership for Longmont families. The Golden family, who have lived in Longmont for five generations, saw that many families were unable to find homes they could afford. Reggie Golden supported Longmont’s plan for affordable housing and sold the property to the City for less than market value. At the same time, Vertikal was working on creative and affordable housing ideas in communities across the Front Range.

“I want to recognize the partnership that made True North possible,” said Longmont City Manager, Harold Dominguez. The landowner, the state, the developer and the bank all worked together on creative solutions to create affordable and attainable housing in our City.”

Directions:
True North is south of Ken Pratt Boulevard, between Harvest Moon Drive and South Martin Street. Park on Bountiful Avenue just west of Harvest Moon Drive, walk north on Altitude Court and turn right on Edge Circle, which is so new it may not appear in select apps. You can also follow the Open House signs.
