Wildfire Preparedness Event at the Library: Join Us July 10
As wildfire risks grow across Colorado, preparation is more important than ever. On Wednesday, July 10, the Longmont Public Library will host a free public event in partnership with Boulder County’s Wildfire Partners, an expert-led program focused on wildfire mitigation for residents of Boulder County.
This program will offer practical guidance on how to reduce wildfire risk at home and in your neighborhood. Attendees will learn about current best practices for fire-hardening homes, maintaining defensible space, and staying informed about wildfire threats. A Boulder County wildfire mitigation expert will answer questions and provide advice tailored to our unique landscape and community needs.
Wildfire mitigation is not a one-time effort—it requires ongoing maintenance and shared responsibility. Homes and landscapes that follow current mitigation best practices have a significantly better chance of surviving a wildfire.
Presented by Boulder County’s Wildfire Partners, this event reflects the County’s commitment to serving residents from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds—including underrepresented communities and non-English speakers. Their work supports both public and private sector partners in building safer, more resilient communities.
Join us at the Library to learn how you can prepare, protect, and take part in making your community wildfire ready.
