Work Begins on the Nino Gallo Park | Inician obras del parque Nino Gallo
Construction on Nino Gallo Park is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 2, 2024.
Located in southeast Longmont, the 8+ acre park parcel is south of the Blue Vista subdivision and north of Quebec Avenue. Park amenities will include a restroom, perennial garden, playground, half-court basketball, picnic shelter, slackline/hammock posts, a 6-hole youth disc golf course, an off-leash dog area and a wavy sidewalk offering terrain for beginning bicyclists.
The park was named for Nino Gallo, a valued collaborative leader who served Longmont and Boulder County communities for more than 25 years, making a significant difference in the lives of many community members.
During construction the park area will be fenced off. The sidewalk on the north side of Quebec Avenue will be closed east of South Oak Court, and will use the eastern end of Quebec Avenue as a staging area. Hall-Irwin is the general contractor awarded the contract, and Steve Ransweiler is the City of Longmont project manager.
Work is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.
