Nature Exploration with Longmont Rangers – All Ages

Explore the ecosystem of Sandstone Ranch with the Longmont Rangers. These outdoor programs are geared for ages 8+ but all are welcome.
CO Folsom Archaeology Lecture – Ages 10+
6 – 7:30 pm, Thursday, Feb 5
Participate in an interactive talk about the Lindenmeier Folsom archaeological site, situated in Northern Colorado. Discover why the site is one of the most important archaeological sites in North America, and how early Longmont history and the discovery of the site are interconnected.

Astronomy Night & Star Party – All Ages

Members of the Longmont Astronomical Society will present a program on astronomical phenomena, followed by star viewing through telescopes.
Bird Walks – Ages 10+

Local birder, Carl Starace, guides you around the loop trail as you explore the variety of birds that pass through or call Sandstone Ranch home.
Guided History Tour – Ages 13+

Enjoy a 90-minute tour of the Visitors Center and Coffin family homestead. Please dress for the weather.

Enjoy outdoor exploration with a weekly theme and storytelling. All ages welcome. Activities and story vary week to week! $5/child for materials; no fee for parents/guardians. Register for Nature Fridays here.
Free Summer Community Nights
5:30-7:30 pm – Check back for the 2026 schedule.
Bring a sack dinner and join us at 5:30 pm before the main event to enjoy the scenery at Sandstone Ranch. Main event begins at 6:30 pm. Outdoor events, weather permitting: bring something to sit on. No registration needed. Organization links are provided as a resource and are not endorsed by the City of Longmont.
