Project Overview

In support of the 1st & Main Transit Station, a new connection of Coffman Street from 1st Avenue to Boston Avenue will be constructed. This extension of Coffman Street will include significant pedestrian and multimodal improvements similar to those that were recently constructed on Coffman Street from 2nd Avenue to 9th Avenue. Improvements related to the Coffman Street Extension will extend beyond just the extension of Coffman Street and include improvements north to 2nd Avenue and south to the St. Vrain Greenway.

This project is peripherally mentioned in the Longmont Transportation Mobility Plan.

Goals & Planned Improvements

This project will serve as the primary point of access to the future 1st & Main Station parking garage and RTD transit hub. It will support efficient pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle access to Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services that are scheduled to begin in early 2028. Additionally, this project intends to service as a direct connection between the St. Vrain Greenway and downtown Longmont by connecting to the recently completed Coffman Street Mobility Improvements north of 2nd Avenue.
