Christmas and New Year’s Day Information
Longmont City government observes the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holiday on December 25 and Thursday, January 1. Most City facilities will be closed. See below for specific hours, etc. for City buildings. Emergency services, parks, outside recreation areas, etc. will be open. During the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Day, if your normal collection falls on Thursday, your collection will be a day later than normal, on Friday. Please place bins at the curb before 7 A.M. where they should remain until picked up. Were you missed? Call 303-651-8416 to schedule pick-up. Holiday Hours for Specific City Facilities
The Civic Center will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.

The Development Services Center will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.
This includes all Planning, Building Services, Code Enforcement, PWNR Engineering and Parking Enforcement services.
The Longmont Museum’s galleries are currently closed for construction. Programs will remain open during construction but will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1. Plan Your Future Visit
The Longmont Library will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.
The Longmont Recycling Center will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.
The Longmont Service Center at 1100 S. Sherman St. will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.
- For outages and other urgent electric matters, call Longmont Power & Communications at 303-651-8386. The lines are monitored 24 hours a day so that LPC crews can respond as quickly as possible.
- NextLight technical support can be reached from 8 am to 5 pm by calling 303-774-4494. As always, the network team will keep an eye on after-hours phone messages and network conditions, so that urgent situations can be addressed.
Emails and Facebook messages will not be seen until the offices re-open on Wednesday, November 12.
Public Safety Administration offices will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.
Emergency services and Records will be available.
St. Vrain Memorial Building
- Closes at 3 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
- Closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Ice Pavilion
- Open skate is 10 am – 4 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
- Closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
- Special Noon Year’s Eve Ice Skating Party at 11:30 am – Dec. 31.
Centennial Pool
- Closes at 2 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
- Closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Recreation Center
- Closes at 3 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
- Closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
- Special New Year’s Day Zumba Party from 1-2:30 pm.
Activity Pools
- Closed for the season.
Sunset Pool
- Closed for the season.
Union Reservoir
- Closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
- Open on New Year’s Eve from 7 am – 6 pm (no water use).
The Senior Center will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.
The airport will remain open; however, the Administration building will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.
The Longmont Youth Center will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.
