Current Adopted Codes
The City of Longmont has adopted the 2024 International Codes, along with the 2024 Metro Cohort Model Code, 2023 National Electric Code (NEC), and 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code as of July 1st, 2026.
Adopted 07/24/2024 – Effective Date 07/24/2024, including appendices, published by the National Fire Protection Association, that code to have the same force and effect as if set forth in this chapter in every particular, save and except such portions as are deleted, modified, substituted or amended in this chapter. Future Code Adoption
Building Services is reviewing the changes to the 2026 National Electric Code (NEC). The ordinance will go before City Council for first reading on November 3, 2026. There will be a meeting with the Master Board of Appeals on October 7, 2026 at 6:30pm at the Development Service Center at 385 Kimbark.
