Our Grand Marshal
Jim Golden, Chief Financial Officer – City of Longmont
“I have worked for the City of Longmont since 1979 and have been in the position of Finance Director (now CFO) since 1987. When I started the population was around 47,000 and it has since more than doubled. As the CFO I focus primarily in the areas of budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, debt management and the administration of six different retirement plans. Additionally, over the years I have provided leadership over a number of city functions that have been within the Finance Department (and formerly the Finance and Administration Department) including Treasury, Sales Tax, Utility Billing, Risk Management, Purchasing, Fleet Services, Enterprise Technology Services, City Clerk, Human Resources, Facilities Maintenance, the Warehouse and even Emergency Communications. I have been involved in the financing of a number of public infrastructure projects as well as private/public partnerships which helped fund the Twin Peaks Mall, the Village at the Peaks, the Costco development and a number of downtown redevelopment projects. I am retiring at the end of January after almost 45 and a half years of service to Longmont.”
Thank you for your many years of service, Jim!
