Accessing Digital Books, Audiobooks, Newspapers, and Magazines
With just your library card, you can access thousands of digital books, audiobooks, newspapers, and magazines that aren’t available for free any place but libraries. This is because premium downloading and streaming services typically require a subscription, but the Library subscribes, so you don’t have to! Happy reading and listening!

Read digital articles (1851-1923; 1980-today), watch videos, listen to podcasts, explore education resources and lesson plans for teachers, all through the digital edition of The New York Times. You will also be able to receive email newsletters and notifications on your phone, including the Morning and Evening Briefings.
Personalize your account settings and features to take advantage of closed captioning, audio podcasts, increased type size and more accessibility features.

How to access The New York Times Digital Edition
Utilize The New York Times mobile apps for phones and tablets; you will still need a web browser to obtain the free pass code with your library card
- All patrons on the Library network/wifi will have free and immediate access.
- Access outside of the Library requires a 72-hour pass.
- Both access options will require that you set up a login.
- This service is only available through these Library links. It is not available via The New York Times’ main website.
- The Library’s subscription DOES NOT include the crossword puzzle or the cooking channel.

Read online coverage of breaking news and current headlines from the U.S. and around the world with the Wall Street Journal digital edition!
- Visit the Library’s online catalog and log into your account (or create an account)
- After logging in, you will be directed to an outside page to set up an account or log in to access the Wall Street Journal.
- Then, browse through news stories, business and stock market updates and more!
Alternatively, you may search “Wall Street Journal” on the Library’s online catalog and click on the link under the “Copies” drop down.
Read digital articles, watch videos, listen to podcasts, access live-streaming of Washington Post LIVE events through the Washington Post Digital Edition. You can personalize your account settings and features, as well as receive email newsletters and notifications.
Access Inside the Library
Go to WashingtonPost.com while using the Library’s computers or the public Wi-Fi on personal devices. There should be no paywall and no registration prompt with on-site access.
Remote Access
Access the Washington Post Digital Edition while NOT at the Library.
- You’ll be redirected to a page where you can register or log-in with your Washington Post account to begin a 7 day access period. On the 8th day, users can renew their 7 day pass via the Library’s webpage. The landing page at WashingtonPost.com landing page will feature the following message “Your library has provided you with complimentary access to WashingtonPost.com for the next 7 days.
- To access the site, sign in or create a free Washington Post account.

Download and read popular fiction and nonfiction books, audiobooks, eMagazines. Use this resource if you prefer bestsellers and popular titles and are willing to wait to get them!
- Are you Dyslexic? The Libby app has a special setting to display a dyslexic-friendly font!
- Visit the Libby website (best for desktop users) to sign up. You will need to provide a Longmont Public Library card number.
Trying to log in to your Library card account or your Libby eMaterials account? You are now required to enter a PIN to access these accounts along with your Library card number. Your default pin is the last four digits of your phone number that is associated with your Library card account. If you did not include a phone number on your account, the default pin is 1234. Can’t remember what phone number is associated with your account? You may change your pin by clicking the “Reset my PIN” on our catalog page or give us a call at 303-651-8470 to help.
