Bus Shelter and Streetscape Installation on Coffman Street

Starting Monday, March 9, crews will begin installing new bus shelters and other street furniture along the Coffman Street corridor at the 4th Avenue and 8th Avenue bus stops. Work is expected to take approximately one week.

Installation will occur at the northbound and southbound stops at both intersections. The bus stops will remain open during installation, and there will be no disruption to bus routes or scheduled times. Work will occur toward the back of the bus pads, and pedestrians and bicyclists will continue to have access to the bus stops at all times.

To place the shelters and furnishings, a small crane truck will be positioned behind each bus pad during active work. This will require temporary closures of the adjacent bike lane and sidewalk in the immediate work area. Signed pedestrian and bicycle detour routes will be provided around construction zones.

The City appreciates the public’s patience as these improvements are completed. The new shelters and furnishings are part of the Coffman Street Mobility Improvements project, which is designed to enhance comfort, accessibility and multimodal travel along the corridor.

Questions or concerns regarding the project should be directed to the project hotline by calling 720-432-7058 or emailing CoffmanStreetMobility@longmontcolorado.gov.
