Full Closure at 3rd Avenue and Atwood Street for the Railroad Quiet Zones Project

March 30, 2026 – Beginning Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 24, all lanes of traffic will be closed at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Atwood Street (railroad crossing). No through traffic will be allowed at the intersection during this time.

 

Detours and access

    • East/west travel: Traffic will need to detour to 4th Avenue.
    • North/south travel: Traffic will need to detour using Martin Street or Collyer Street.
    • Trucks: Trucks should avoid using 3rd Avenue as a through-route and are encouraged to use CO 119 or 9th Avenue for east/west travel.
    • Local access: Local traffic will be able to access driveways along 3rd Avenue and Atwood Street from the designated detour routes.
    • Business access: Access to all local-area businesses will remain open throughout the closure.

 

Pedestrian impacts

All sidewalks at the intersection will be closed during this time. Pedestrians should follow posted signs for detour routes.

 

Construction hours

Regular construction hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some work may occur until 7 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays, as necessary.
