The City of Longmont is notifying community members of an upcoming road closure associated with the St. Vrain Valley School District’s Skyline High School Stadium Improvements Project.
Beginning Thursday, May 28, Mountain View Avenue will be fully closed between Pace Street and Alpine Street for approximately 23 days through Friday, June 19.

The closure is necessary to support waterline construction activities for the stadium improvements. While this is not a City of Longmont project, the City is sharing this information due to the proximity of ongoing improvements along the Pace Street and Rough & Ready Trail corridor.

During the closure:

• Through traffic on Mountain View Avenue will be detoured to 17th Avenue or 9th Avenue.
• Local neighborhood access south of Skyline High School will remain available via Independence Drive.
• Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be detoured via Independence Drive.
• The Rough and Ready trail is currently closed, therefore the detour route will also use Independence Drive while Mountain View Avenue is closed.
• One lane of traffic in each direction on Pace Street will remain open at all times.

Drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists are encouraged to use caution, follow posted detour signs and allow additional travel time through the area.
