Moving Ahead (Full Speed Ahead blog)

It’s the season for sunshine and moving trucks.
About 60% of all moves in the U.S. take place from May through August, sometimes referred to as “peak moving season.” Some of that’s because of spring graduations and fall enrollments. Some of it’s because a lot of leases end in June or July. And some of it … well, would you rather drive a fully-loaded van on icy highways or sunny ones?
Whatever the reason, it means a lot of people have a new home and need a new internet connection. And hauling boxes and shifting furniture is tiring enough, so getting that connection needs to be easy.
That’s where NextLight comes in.
As a community-owned internet service, we do a lot to welcome newcomers to our fiber-optic excellence. For starters:
- You can check your address online to make sure you can get NextLight’s award-winning service and what offers are available to you. Then call 303-774-4494 to let us know when you’re coming and will need service.
- Since most homes in Longmont are already wired for NextLight, you may be eligible for same-day installation! Call ahead to confirm – even if your home does need to be wired up, our awesome locally-based team can get that scheduled and done for you in a reasonable amount of time.
- We don’t charge installation fees to connect your home. Go ahead and save that money for your first-night welcome-home pizza.
- If you’re a new residential customer who subscribes before June 30, you can get your first month of service free.
- Have questions? Our friendly customer service and technical support teams are all right here in Longmont, so you can get answers and help from across town instead of halfway around the world. No long hold times, either. (And if you’d rather chat with a customer service rep face-to-face, come on down and visit us at the Civic Center, 350 Kimbark St., during business hours.)
- Your home’s NextLight service comes with no contracts, no data caps and no hidden fees or gotchas. After all, moving’s enough of a headache without having to look out for internet bait-and-switch tactics, too.
Want to know more? Contact our teams by phone or email or check out our NextLight web page. We’ll be glad to help you feel at home.
You might even find it a moving experience.
