Northbound Coffman Street Closing February 20 Between 3rd Avenue & 4th Avenue
Starting Thursday, February 20, the northbound lanes of Coffman Street will be closed between 3rd Avenue and 4th Avenue. This work is being done in preparation for utility and concrete work in that block which is expected to happen over the next three months.
This will extend the closure of the northbound lanes on Coffman Street from 3rd Avenue to 9th Avenue. The southbound lanes will remain open. On street parking on the east side of Coffman Street will also be closed on the blocks under construction. The public parking lot and the Elk’s Lodge private parking lots on the east side of Coffman Street will remain open and accessible. Temporary driveway closures will be required between 3rd Avenue and 5th Avenue and those are being coordinated with individual property owners. Travelers will need to follow signs to enter and exit parking lots on the east side of Coffman Street from the southbound lane.
The intersection at Coffman Street and 5th Avenue is currently under construction and the east side of the intersection will remain closed for approximately two more weeks. When this work is completed and the intersection is open, construction will start at the intersection of Coffman Street and 4th Avenue. At that time, the east side of the 4th Avenue intersection will close for approximately three weeks, similar to the 5th Avenue closure.
Please check the Coffman Street Mobility Improvements Project webpage for updates on the status of construction and potential traffic impacts. We encourage the public to support businesses along Coffman Street and adjacent blocks throughout construction. Various parking options can be found on the DowntownLongmont.com parking webpage.
Questions or concerns regarding the project should be directed to the project hotline at 720-432-7058 or CoffmanStreetMobility@longmontcolorado.gov.
