Ascent at Hover Crossing Wins Award

Ascent at Hover Crossing received a 2026 Eagle Award from Housing Colorado on Thursday, June 11, 2026. The award celebrates extraordinary accomplishments and outstanding leadership in housing and support services.

Ascent is a new 75-unit income-aligned housing community located at 2225 18th Avenue in northwest Longmont. The community includes the Aspen Center at Hover Crossing, an on-site early childhood education center serving families at all income levels. It also offers solar panels to reduce residents’ utility bills, a fitness center, indoor and outdoor play areas and more. It was created in a partnership that includes Pennrose (a national developer of mixed income housing) and the Longmont Housing Authority (LHA).

“Ascent represents our first development since the partnership formed between the LHA and the City of Longmont in 2020,” said Molly O’Donnell, director of the Longmont’s Housing & Community Investment division, which oversees the LHA. “Our goal with this project was to leverage the resources of both the LHA and the City to create something exceptional. We are excited to be able to include innovations like the solar energy offsets, the early childhood center and the terrific design in our first project, and it is very gratifying to have them recognized.”

Free Outdoor 2MX2 Concert at the Museum

Join the Longmont Museum for their free Summer Concert Series in the beautiful outdoor Stewart Family Courtyard. This Thursday, July 2, they’ll feature 2MX2. This Latinx alternative rock and hip hop band from Denver is making waves with their fusion of Latin reggaeton, Spanglish lyrics, rock and hip-hop. Their mix of infectious beats and meaningful lyrics have captivated audiences worldwide.

Middle School Nights at Sunset Pool

Middle School Night happens every Tuesday in June and July for students entering 6th to 9th grade. You must have a school ID or proof of age to attend. No one outside this age range can enter. Independence Weekend is Coming Soon!

On July 3, G. Love & Special Sauce rocks a free show at Roosevelt Park. Doors open at 6 pm; food and drink for purchase. On July 4 at 11:30 am, the Longmont Symphony performs a free concert in Thompson Park. Then the action moves downtown for a family festival, drone show and fireworks, 5-10 pm. Abolishing the Board of Adjustment and Appeals
Adopting the Model Traffic Code (with a few local exceptions)
Adopting the Public Improvement Design Standards in Title 11 of the Municipal Code
Adopting the Public-Private Partnership agreements between Front Range Community College, the City and Vertikal Richmark for the Innovative Campus in lower downtown

Mosquito Spraying

The City of Longmont contracts with Vector Disease Control International (VDCI) to spray neighborhoods to control West Nile Virus. Spraying begins when mosquitos increase and West Nile Virus is detected, typically in July. To request email alerts before spraying and have sprayers turned off as trucks pass
