Updates proposed to utility rates, rebates
On Tuesday, Dec. 20, the Longmont City Council is considering an update to Longmont’s electric and wastewater rates in order to continue providing reliable, high-quality service to the community. This would affect electric rates for 2023 and storm drainage rates for 2023-25. If adopted, a typical residential customer in 2023 would pay an additional $3.43/month in electric rates ($1.82 of which was already adopted in 2022) and an additional $4.55/month for wastewater. Longmont CAReS participants would also get greater rebates, including the City’s first-ever wastewater rebate. More information, including a link to the detailed proposal, can be found online at longmontcolorado.gov/RateChanges; Longmont CAReS information can be found at longmontcolorado.gov/LongmontCARES.
