Longmont City Council to Meet Monday
The City Council will convene in a special virtual meeting on December 20 at 7 pm to consider the purchase of the Adam Farm property and a second reading of an electronic participation policy. The Longmont Housing Authority Board of Commissioners meeting will follow. Both meetings will share the same livestream and call-in information. Holiday Schedules for City Facilities
Most City facilities will be closed on Friday, Dec. 24. The Longmont Museum and some Recreation facilities will be open Friday, but closed Saturday. Recycle Your Holidays
The City offers several opportunities from Sunday, Dec. 26, through Sunday, Jan. 9 for residents to recycle holiday materials. Christmas trees can be dropped off at designated areas within Roosevelt, Garden Acres, Kanemoto and Centennial parks, and at the Waste Diversion Center. Please remove all decorations and lights. Special bins will be set up at the Waste Diversion Center, 140 Martin St., for wrapping paper, holiday lights and white block foam recycling. January Job Fair for Longmont Recreation Positions
Longmont Recreation is hosting a job fair in January to fill a variety of positions in 2022. Join us in the lobby of the Longmont Recreation Center at 310 Quail Road on either Monday, January 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. or Sunday, January 9 from 12 to 3 p.m. for open interviews. Positions available include lifeguards, grounds maintenance, building supervisors, front desk staff, fitness instructor, pool manager, day camp leader, ice skate guards, and more! Catch ‘Longmont 150’ Before It’s History!
Catch the “Longmont 150” exhibit at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, before it becomes history on Jan. 9, 2022! It’s been 150 years since the Chicago-Colorado Colony founded the town of Longmont, and only a few more weeks until the exhibit named in honor of this anniversary closes! Learn the stories of Longmont’s history with artifacts gathered over the past 80-plus years. Prospector Services to Return in 2022
There’s gold in them thar shelves – or even better, a Prospector! The Longmont Library is excited to announce the return of the Prospector lending service in January 2022 — giving our patrons and staff access to more than 30 million books, videos, CDs and other materials from nearly 200 libraries across Colorado and Wyoming. With just one search on our Online Catalog, patrons can easily find materials and then request free delivery to their local library via the Colorado Library Courier.
