Virtual Coffee with Council on Saturday
Longmont City Council will host a virtual Coffee with Council from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29. At this event, you can talk informally with Council Members Tim Waters and Susie Hidalgo-Fahring on any topic of your choice. For more information, call 303-651-8649. Register for Summer Day Camp
Make memories with Longmont Recreation & Golf Services! Registration for the Longmont Summer Day Camp and Tween LOCO Camps opens in February. Operating out of the St. Vrain Memorial Building, located at 700 Longs Peak Ave., campers ages 5-13 enjoy swimming twice a week, local field trips and weekly themed activities. Open Chess Nights at the Library
Checkmate! The Longmont Public Library hosts Open Chess Night from 6-7:30 pm every Tuesday night. Patrons ages 16 and older can try to pull a Fool’s Mate or Dutch Defense during informal games on the 2nd floor of the Library, 409 4th Ave. Tables are set up starting at 6 pm and games must conclude by 8 pm for the closing of the Library. Those 16 years of age and younger can participate; however, they must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required to play, and spectators are encouraged to attend. Art & Sip is Back at the Museum!
Grab a drink and get creative with Art & Sip classes for adults starting at 6:30 pm each Thursday night at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. This season’s classes include painting, ink art, bookbinding, printmaking and tie-dye, with a special focus on art projects inspired by the Museum’s current exhibit, “Washi Transformed: New Expressions in Japanese Paper.” Classes run from Feb. 3 through April 28 and cost $35/class.
