Holiday Schedule for July 4 Observance
Most City facilities will be closed Monday, July 5, in observance of the July 4 holiday. Trash, recycling and compost will be collected one day later than usual throughout the week; the Waste Diversion Center will be closed Monday. Skyline Kiwanis Fireworks Show
The Longmont Skyline Kiwanis is hosting a private event and fireworks show at the Fox Hill Country Club on the evening of July 4. This light display begins at 9:45 p.m. and will last about 15 minutes. Those residents with a sensitivity to fireworks, including pets, may want to be inside during that time. Residents will not be permitted on the golf course or to park in the Fox Hill neighborhood; but rather are advised to watch the show from public parking lots at Stephen Day Park, Clark Centennial, Sandstone Ranch and Union Reservoir (entrance fees apply at Union). Get Help Before Disconnects Resume
Do you need help getting your utility bill caught up? On July 26, the City of Longmont will resume disconnections for accounts that are long past-due, and we want to work with you. If you’re having difficulties and need to discuss a payment plan, please call Utility Billing at 303-651-8664 to make arrangements. Read the news release.
Free Concert: Rusty 44
Enjoy a free, in-person bluegrass and Americana concert in the Longmont Museum’s grassy outdoor courtyard beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 8. Representing all four corners of the American land, Rusty 44 is dedicated to spreading the roots of original bluegrass and Americana by performing toe-tapping, feel-good music. Featuring some fiery flat-picking, fiddle playing, and mandolin strumming, Rusty 44 creates a dance-friendly vibe for all. Limited seating; reservations recommended. ArtWalk Summer on the Streets
Every Saturday until August 21, ArtWalk’s Summer on the Streets will host afternoons and evenings of music, crafts, and local creatives throughout breezeways and alleys along Main Street between 3rd and 6th avenues. The Library of Things is Back
After being suspended due to the pandemic, The Longmont Public Library is bringing back the Library of Things. Adult Library Card-holders can rent a Go-Pro camera, telescope kits provided by the Longmont Astronomical Society, Ukulele kits, a projector and more. Items can be checked out for 7 days, and cannot be renewed or have their time extended. The Greenway Glow – Roger’s River Run 5k
GLOW at the Roger’s River Run 5k! Join us at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, in your glow and party apparel, to run, walk, or dance the 5k, all the way to the GLOW after-party! This is an untimed, non-certified race in 2021. Registration ends at noon on Friday, July 9; no race day entries accepted. Entry fees are $23 per person (ages 5 and older); strollers are allowed.
