Traffic Switchover Starting December 2 on Coffman Street Between 9th Avenue and Longs Peak Avenue
Traffic Switchover Starting December 2 on Coffman Street Between 9th Avenue and Longs Peak Avenue
Starting December 2, construction on the Coffman Street Mobility Improvements Project will move from the west side of Coffman Street to the east side progressing from 9th Avenue to Longs Peak Avenue. This requires a traffic switchover from the current configuration to the opposite direction. Â
- The northbound lane of Coffman Street will be closed, and only one-way traffic in the southbound lane will be allowed between 9th Avenue and Longs Peak Avenue.
- Both the northbound and southbound lanes of Coffman Street between Longs Peak Avenue and 6th Avenue will remain open until early next year at which time the northbound lane will close.Â
- On the day of the traffic switchover, driveways on the east side of Coffman Street between 9th Avenue and Longs Peak Avenue will be temporarily closed. The contractor will coordinate with each affected business individually to discuss the timing of the closures.Â
- New temporary driveways will be installed on December 2 and 3 to reinstate access to businesses on these blocks. Â
- Left and right turns from 9th Avenue onto southbound Coffman Street will be open.Â
- Right turns onto northbound Coffman Street from Longs Peak Avenue and 8th Avenue will be prohibited. Â
- On-street parking on both sides of Coffman Street in the blocks under construction will also be prohibited. Â
- Follow traffic signs when entering or exiting Coffman Street into the available southbound lane. Â
Â
This traffic configuration is expected to be in place through the spring of 2025. More information can be found on the Coffman Street Mobility Improvements Project webpage.   Various parking options can be found on the DowntownLongmont.com parking webpage. Â
