A playground area at Dry Creek Park is pictured with the front range mountains in the background.

Dry Creek Community Park is an 81-acre park named for the creek running through the site. Amenities at the park include a multi-tiered and ADA accessible playground, restrooms, parking, walking paths (including a Dry Creek Greenway trail connection from Grandview Meadows Drive to Blue Skies Park), an 18-hole disc golf course, and a sledding hill. There is also a multi-use sports field including cricket pitches.

The amenities currently available at the park represent Phase 1 – approximately 23 acres – of development of the park. The full Dry Creek Community Park Master Plan was created in 2008. Future phases of construction are not currently funded in the 5-year capital Improvement Program.

Dry Creek Park Synthetic Turf Fields

Approximately nine acres of existing turf grass on the athletic fields at Dry Creek Park were  replaced with synthetic turf as part of capital improvements to the park. Additionally, lighting will be added to prolong the usability of the fields. This project was completed in January 2025.

Sledding Hill Borrow Site

As part of construction at Resilient St. Vrain Project (RSVP) Izaak Walton Reach 2 (Boston Ave to Sunset Street), dirt will be exported from the unofficial sledding hill located on the south side of the Dry Creek Community Park parking lot. The project will also import dirt to reconstruct the sledding hill and make the site whole again. The RSVP Izaak Walton Reach 2 construction project is a partnership between the City and the US Army Corps of Engineers. The US Army Corps will contract and manage the construction project. For more information on the project, please visit the Izaak Walton Reach 2 webpage.

Schedule

  • The sledding hill area will be temporarily closed with sporadic dirt hauling between June 2025 – April 2026.
