Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Adopt-A-Park
The Adopt-A-Park Program is an effort to enlist community support through assistance with park and greenway upkeep. There are a few different ways to volunteer with this group.
- Group, Monthly: This monthly, minimum one-year commitment is the perfect opportunity for businesses, community groups or family and friends to take ownership of their public lands year-round. Cleanup materials provided. After one year of service, should your group renew for a second year we will place an adopter sign with your group’s name in your park.
- Join our Adopt-A-Park Volunteer Group and complete an application. Email post.volunteer@longmontcolorado.gov with questions.
- Group, One-Time: This is an opportunity for businesses, community groups, or family and friends to organize a one-time volunteer event to your group’s specifications. Cleanup materials provided.
- Please fill out our Group Inquiry Form and include the name of the park or greenway you’re interested in – or, list “no location preference”. Our Volunteer Project Coordinator will respond to you within 3 business days.
- Individual, One-Time or Monthly: Looking to help keep our parks and greenways clean on your own time? We would love to have your help, and will provide direction and materials so that you can do so effectively!

Rose Gardeners
City of Longmont's Memorial Rose Garden is located at the west end of Roosevelt Park. The Memorial Rose Garden Volunteer Program is an effort to enlist community support through assistance with garden upkeep. Volunteers learn about horticulture while gaining community pride, a sense of ownership and a better maintained Rose Garden!
Time Commitment
- Commit to one or more growing seasons! Plan to help between May and October, with 20-minute trainings offered in the spring for new rose gardeners. The exact seasonal work period and volunteer work required will depend on plant development and weather variations in a specific growing season.
Pollinator Gardeners
The City of Longmont is working to create and maintain several gardens with a focus on promoting pollinator health, demonstrating xeric alternatives to turf, and emphasizing native plant species whenever possible. By volunteering with Pollinator Gardeners, volunteers can learn about pollinators and native plant species while helping maintain public spaces that demonstrate the many benefits of these gardens.
Time Commitment
- Commit to one or more growing seasons! Plan to help between April and October. The exact seasonal work period and volunteer work required will depend on plant development and weather variations in a specific growing season.
